ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Shahjalal University was established in 1986. On 13th February, 1991 it operated with only 3 departments – Physics, Chemistry and Economics while there were only 12 teachers and 205 students. It has now expanded to 27 departments and 2 institutes and centres while the number of students and teachers has grown to approximately 10000 and 550 respectively.

Shahjalal University of Science and Technology offers Ph.D. programs to the students. It is one of the kind universities in Bangladesh that offers free WiFi to the students and encourages them to explore their interest areas to the fullest.

STUDENT LIFE


Many international students have enrolled in Shahjalal University of Science and Technology from various parts of the world. The college has contributed to shaping a stable career for thousands of students now. Students are provided with comfortable accommodation at hostels equipped with all the modern facilities. There is also a library within the premises to increase student’s knowledge base. Moreover, sports complexes within the campus are furnished to provide an opportunity to students to explore their creativity.
