Arak University of Medical Sciences: An Overview
The Arak University of Medical Sciences is located in Arak, Iran. It is one of Iran’s largest central colleges and serves as the province of Markazi’s primary healthcare provider. To establish the institution, the Majlis representative of Arak, the director of regional health organizations in Markazi province, and representatives from the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education worked together. After obtaining the necessary licenses for the establishment of the Arak School of Medicine in 1987, the establishment of the School of Medical Sciences in February 1988 brought together the medical school and the college of nursing and midwifery. The medical program enrolled 60 students before dividing and operating independently in 1988.
In 1990, the university changed its name to “University of Medical Sciences.” In 1994, the integration of regional health agencies into the University of Medical Sciences led to its renaming as the University of Medical Sciences and Health Services, Markazi Province. It took on the duty of delivering healthcare services throughout the province. The institution opened its doors in 1986 with the goal of educating and training the doctors that society needs. Basic and clinical sciences are the two domains of scientific and instructional endeavors. The school spans more than 10,000 square meters and offers a variety of facilities, including a lab, dorms, library, computer hardware and software services, and a sports area.
