ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Also known as DU, the University of Dhaka is the oldest university in Bangladesh. It is the largest public research university with a faculty of 1992 and a student body of approximately 37018.

The campus has 23 residential facilities for the students and dormitories for the teachers as well as officials of the university. It also houses the university library in three separate buildings. It is known to be the biggest library in Bangladesh. Besides, the university has its own cafetaria.

The university consists of 13 faculties and 83 departments.

STUDENT LIFE


The University of Dhaka organizes sports and other curricular activities on a regular basis. There is the University of Dhaka ground that is the official stadium and it hosts many inter-collegiate sports tournaments at inter-city and national levels. Students are encouraged to participate in these games and sports for which prior training is provided to them.
