About Ain Shams University
Founded in 1950, Ain Shams University is a public university located in Cairo, Egypt. It was the third university to be founded in Egypt, and it was built on the site of a former royal home called Zaafarana Palace, which got its name from the saffron-growing region around it (called “zaafaran” in Arabic).
Currently, the university spans seven distinct campuses, all located in the Greater Cairo region. In addition, it has various research centers and fifteen faculties. On campus, there are living facilities for college students in addition to sports and leisure areas.
The main campus, situated in the Abassia suburb of Cairo, houses the faculties of science, law, and the arts, in addition to the university administration. The faculties of commerce, engineering, medicine, agriculture, education, pharmacy, dentistry, computers and information sciences, education, and nursing are among those located abroad.
