Geography and place.
Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) is located in Kazan’s center. The teaching system.
The curriculum for general medicine (M.D., equal to M.B.B.S.), dentistry, and pharmacy is comprehensive and up-to-date. Each subject begins with a study of the disease and focuses on epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis, pathological physiology, pathological morphology, clinical picture, methods of laboratory and instrumental examination of a patient, diagnoses, differential diagnoses, complications, prognosis, treatment, and prevention. Latin terminology is assigned according to the international nomenclature of various disciplines. During their training, students are taught special subjects in succession: theoretically (from the first to the third year) and clinically (from the fourth to the sixth year), as well as practical skills. Every step of training provides a basis for progressing to the next level.
The educational procedure involves an approach that begins with lectures and progresses to laboratory and practical work in hospitals, as well as an in-depth analysis of patients and clinical activities. Along with careful teaching, lectures, tests, quizzes, examinations, state examinations, final interdisciplinary tests, oral replies, laboratory and written assignments, MCQ tests, and case history recording are all part of the day-to-day activities.
